“Please! Notice Me!”

You were made to be seen and known and deeply loved. The question is, how are you going to respond to this longing in your soul to be noticed, to be loved, to be called gorgeous?

Girls deal with the need to be noticed in different ways. Some dress inappropriately, showing lots of skin to make guys (and other people) notice. Some girls pierce holes here, there, and everywhere. Others spend tons of money on their hair clothes, and nails to make sure they look perfect. Some even have plastic surgery to fix a “problem” with their physical appearance.

You’re no the only girl who feels invisible. Other girls feel it too. In fact, even people in the Bible felt alone, left out, and forgotten. There’s a story about a woman who probably felt invisible. Read Luke 8:43-48 to learn more about her.

As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

"Who touched me?" Jesus asked.
When they all denied it, Peter said, "Master, the people are crowding and pressing against you."

But Jesus said, "Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me."

Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed. Then he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace."

invisibleWe don’t know this woman’s name, but we do know that she lived in a strict culture in which her medical condition made her an outcast. She wasn’t allowed to go to church, couldn’t be intimate with her husband, and can’t hang out with her friends for 12 years! No birthday parties. No hugs. No meals with her family. She was lonely! She was miserable to find a cure, but no one could heal her.

Can you imagine how desperate this woman felt? Everyone pretended she was invisible. If you were her, how would you have felt? This woman must have been petrified around that crowd of people. However, when you’re feeling alone and forgotten, you’ll do what it takes. Notice what happened after she touched Jesus’ robe. He noticed. He asked who touched Him. And it scared the woman.

Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet.

Did you catch that? She was trying to slip into and out of the crowd unnoticed. She was trying to remain invisible. After all this time, nobody paid attention to her. But she was encountering no ordinary person; she was encountering God.

And to God, nobody is anonymous. Nobody is invisible. And that includes YOU!

We will never go unnoticed if we fear God. Yes, the feeling of rejection and being ignored usually drive us to take some actions that compromise our values, our characters, and our dignity. “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised” (Proverbs 31:30) ...the woman in the story came trembling when Jesus knew she touched Him...See? Everything will follow… He will let our light shine in His time.

yes, even we felt good about ourselves, as we dressed up elegantly, our beautiful outlook... we still found by other people unimportant and we found out that we are really unnoticed in spite of our efforts... but God do recognize us in many ways, just turn around and we'll realize how beautiful us inside and out if we have Him in our life!!

  9. Fab says:

We are really beautiful in the eyes of God.. no matter what we looks like in person..
It really doesn't matter.. as long as we love who we are.. and accept it..
It is only a matter of perspective of who is beautiful and not.. so why waste time thinking of it.. Just be yourself, have a self-confidence and trust God!

  19. Jody says:

A few years ago I wanted to be noticed, to be popular...

Now I feel like I want to be invisible... with so many people backstabbing me and such, I feel like I just want to hide somewhere--somewhere I'll never be noticed...

But even though people notice me in a wrong way, I know God will notice me in a different way. He loves me, and that's more powerful than all the hatred people have of me.

Someday, I'll be moving on from those people, with God by my side. I hope that people who can relate to my situation will be able to read this so that they will not be sad. God is always watching us, and he is always protecting us, for we are never ignored by Him.

    God Bless to everyone. :)

Haay..I do always feel invisible.I feel so alone and no one wants me. Everyone leaves me and it really hurts.. I felt so miserable. I loved everyone around me but why they can't love me back? Some questions and don't know where to find the answers.Sadness filled my heart and don't know when will I move on with my life. Don't know how will I find myself.

Now only God that I am holding on. I know that he will never leave me.He loves me and I know that he will never change whatever mistakes I make. He always knows how to understand me,and forgive me from my mistakes.

    God Bless everyone!!=)

How is it possible that even with 6.2 billion people on this planet,

God formed me in the womb,
knows every hair on my head,
has a plan for my life...

    and know my name?

  24. TLW Admin says:

Do you accept that you are unconditionally loved by God?

Can you accept that you don't need to do anything to receive unconditionally love?

God's love for us is unconditional! He knows us. He knows your name. He longs for you. He pursues you. He delights in you. He sustains you. He is crazy in love with you!
